Description JACKOBOARD Primer is an acrylic primer for priming floor and wall substrates prior to the application of JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane. Supplied in a 1 litre container. JACKOBOARD Primer is designed to close the pores of a substrate and to ensure good bonding between it and subsequent layers such as levelling plaster, waterproofing materials and tile adhesive. It can be used on most porous building substrates such as plaster, render, plasterboards, timber suspended floors, concrete floors and plywood overlays. This primer is NOT required for priming tile backer boards such as JACKOBOARD Plano Tile Backer Board. JACKOBOARD Primer is part of the JACKOBOARD waterproofing system, and works in conjunction with the JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane and the JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape, Corners & Pipe Collars. It is also supplied as part of the JACKOBOARD Waterproof Sealing Kit. Preparation: The substrate must be dry, compact, cleaned of dust, grease, oil etc prior to applying the primer. Concrete slurry (if any) should be removed, weaker parts of substrate should be removed and then repaired again. Remove dust with a vacuum cleaner. Grease, oil, dirt should be cleaned. The entire surface should be clean of dust. Application: Apply JACKOBOARD Primer with either a roller or brush. Evenly coat all the areas of the substrate that are likely to be applied with JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane. Use the primer undiluted on porous surfaces such as plasterboard. For priming less porous substrates such as timber and other surfaces, dilute JACKOBOARD Primer 1:1 with water first. Consumption: 1 Litre of primer will cover approximately 12 m² depending on the surface porosity. Temperature: Application temperature range: 10°C to 18°C.
