Amber Wet Underfloor Heating Pipe

$24.97 $39.2
Description Amber Wet Underfloor Heating Pipe is the core element of any wet underfloor heating system, responsible for carrying warm water beneath the floor surface to deliver consistent, comfortable radiant heat throughout a room. High‑quality pipework ensures efficient heat transfer, long‑term reliability, and smooth system performance, making it one of the most important components in any UFH installation. Amber Wet Underfloor Heating Pipe is designed for use with the Amber Wet Underfloor Heating Manifold and is available in two diameters: 12mm and 16mm and two construction types: AL-PERT MLCP and EVOH-PERT. The main difference between 12mm and 16mm underfloor heating pipe is their typical application, flow capacity, and loop length. 12mm pipe is generally used in low-profile or retrofit systems where floor height needs to be kept to a minimum, such as the appropriate Amber Grooved UFH Overlay Boards and the Amber Castellated UFH Panels. Because the pipe is smaller, it has higher resistance to water flow, which means shorter loop lengths (around 50–70 m) are required and pipes are usually spaced closer together to achieve adequate heat output. However, these systems often heat up faster because there is less material covering the pipe. 16mm underfloor heating pipe is the standard choice for most new UFH installations, especially where pipes are laid within a screed floor using the Amber UFH Pipe Clip Rails, or under suspended timber floors with the Amber UFH Spreader Plates. They also work with the Amber Grooved UFH Overlay Boards and the Amber Castellated UFH Panels that are designed for use with 16mm pipe. The larger diameter allows better water flow and lower resistance, enabling longer loops (around 80–120 m) and often fewer circuits for the same area. While screeded systems take longer to warm up, they provide more stable and consistent heat output. The main difference between AL‑PERT MLCP pipe and EVOH-PERT pipe lies in their construction and rigidity. AL-PERT MLCP pipe is a multilayer composite pipe made from PERT plastic with a welded aluminium layer sandwiched between two PERT layers (PERT–AL–PERT). The aluminium core gives the pipe greater shape stability, meaning it holds its form when bent, has very low oxygen permeability, and expands less when heated. This makes it particularly suitable for underfloor heating systems and heating circuits where maintaining pipe shape and preventing oxygen entering the system are important. EVOH-PERT pipe is made from multiple layers of PERT plastic and include an oxygen barrier layer (EVOH – Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol) which is a thin layer of special plastic added to stop oxygen from passing through the pipe wall. This pipe is more flexible and easier to route than the AL-PERT MLCP but does not hold its shape as well and can have slightly higher thermal expansion compared to the AL-PERT MLCP pipe with its aluminium core. AL-PERT MLCP Amber Wet Underfloor Heating Pipe is available in 12mm and 16mm diameters, EVOH-PERT Amber Wet Underfloor Heating Pipe is available only in 16mm. All pipe types are available in various coil lengths. During installation, the pipe is laid in carefully planned loops beneath the floor surface. The number, spacing, and layout of these loops are determined by the room size, insulation levels, and desired heat output. Once installed, the loops connect back to the Amber Underfloor Heating Manifold, which acts as the central control point for distributing and balancing warm water across each heating circuit. Designed to operate at low water temperatures, Amber Wet Underfloor Heating Pipe supports highly efficient heating performance. This makes it ideal for use with modern energy‑saving technologies such as heat pumps and condensing boilers. The result is a system that delivers comfortable, even warmth while helping to reduce energy consumption and running costs.
