Description Amber Grooved Overlay Panels for UFH Pipe are panels with pre-routed grooves for routing the Amber Underfloor Heating Pipe when installing wet underfloor heating systems in both new builds and renovation projects. These precision‑engineered panels are manufactured from EPS (expanded polystyrene foam) which provides an insulating base, then covered with aluminium foil for conducting the heat upwards and deliver rapid, even heat distribution across the entire floor area. Each Amber Grooved Overlay Panel is pre‑routed with accurately spaced grooves that form channels for underfloor heating pipework. The pipe sits securely within these grooves, ensuring excellent contact with the conductive surface and maximising heat transfer. Because the panels are installed directly over the existing subfloor, they create a slim, efficient heating layer without the need for excavation, screeding, or major structural alterations. The Amber Grooved Overlay Panels measure 1200 x 600mm and are available in 20mm and 16mm thicknesses for use with 16mm and 12mm pipe respectively. Each panel thickness is available in two types – a standard grooved panel with pre-defined pipe spacing to be used over the area to be heated and a ‘highway’ panel with multiple, closely spaced straight grooves, for routing multiple heating pipes to and from the manifold and heating areas. The system operates by circulating warm water through the pipe channels.
