Description Marmox Preformed Tileable Shower Niches are preconstructed box niche elements used to easily create a recessed niche for toiletries within tiled shower walls and other wet areas, prior to tiling. They are made from Marmox Multiboard Tile Backer Board – comprised of an extruded polystyrene core coated on either side with a thin but robust layer of fibreglass reinforced polymer concrete. Being preconstructed, the Marmox Preformed Tileable Shower Niches save valuable time compared to creating a niche out of tile backer board onsite. They are designed to be fixed to studded walls alongside whatever tile backer board (such as Marmox Multiboard) is being used, usually within a supporting frame in the stud wall construction so that all sides of the niche are supported and the front lip of the niche is flush with the surrounding tile backer board on the wall. The joints between the Niche and the tile backer board are then to be sealed with Marmox Waterproof Tape, creating a fully waterproof installation ready for tiling. Marmox Preformed Tileable Shower Niches are available in 7 sizes, measured internally.
