Description Dukkaboard Original Tile Backer Board Panel is constructed from extruded polystyrene foam, reinforced on both sides with fibre glass mesh and a cement coating creating a strong, lightweight and waterproof backer board for tile and stone installations. Dukkaboard Original Tile Backer Board Panel provides a stable, ready-to-tile surface, compatible with all types of tile adhesives. With great thermal insulation values and high load strength, it can be used with all types of existing and mixed substrates including concrete, masonry, screeds, metal and wooden studwork. Eliminate the risks linked with the common causes of tile failure associated with traditional building materials such as plywood and plasterboard which are prone to absorbing moisture, leading to substrate instability and mould growth. The lightweight design makes the handling and installation a simple task. Dukkaboard Original Tile Backer Board Panel can be easily cut to size using a saw or knife. *Please note: Orders for small quantities of tile backer boards are usually packed into (large) parcels and dispatched via courier. We take great care in packaging them as well as possible to prevent damage to the edges and corners, however despite our best efforts occasionally they may arrive with small dents and marks that have been inflicted on the edges as they have been processed through the courier network. These marks are purely cosmetic and will have no effect on the integrity and performance of the board. Loading & Bonding: Dukkaboard Original Tile Backer Board Panel is made from Hard Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) Foam which satisfies the requirements for BS EN13164:2008 and achieved a TR200 rating for bonding to cement mortar in accordance with BS EN1607:1997 coating with a flexible cement-based mortar and reinforced with an alkali resistant fibreglass mesh. Fixed to structurally stable concrete floors it can resist significant static loads of up to 30 tons per m2 (calculation based on a 1m×1m tile fixed over Dukkaboard. Fixed to structurally stable concrete pool shell, 10mm, 12mm, 20mm and 30mm up to 60mm thicknesses are suitable for water up to 2.5m deep (based on a mosaic tile 50×50mm tile). Mitigation of point loading is achieved with reinforcement mesh. Fixed to timber floors, 12mm and greater Dukkaboard Original Tile Backer Board Panel thicknesses can significantly increase stability floors and reduce deflection. Fixed to masonry walls and stud framework, it is capable of vertical shear loading up to 100 kg/sqm. Installation, fixing and waterproofing: Dukkaboard Original Tile Backer Board Panel is easy to use and can be fixed using cement based flexible tile adhesive. Solvent based or ready mixed adhesives must not be used. Alternatively Dukkaboard can be fixed using dowels, or screws and washers. Dukkaboard Original Tile Backer Board Panel is completely resistant to water making it an ideal choice for use in areas subject to prolonged or permanent water immersion such as showers, bathrooms, wetrooms, pool areas etc. When used in conjunction with Dukkaboard Aqua77 Waterproofing products, it forms part of a high performance waterproofing system for quality tiling, creative freedom and peace of mind.
