Description Marmox Multiboard is a lightweight, high-performance tile backer board, used for waterproofing, dry-lining and thermal insulation, offering the best long-term adhesion in its class. Marmox Multiboard consists of a core of extruded polystyrene bonded between layers of fibreglass reinforced polymer concrete. This layer provides the perfect level of porosity to bond with tile adhesive or plaster. The extruded polystyrene layer provides insulation and makes the board completely impermeable to water. The combination of the rigid outer shell and the XPS core which absorbs lateral movement makes the board an effective decoupling layer. Marmox also manufacture an XPS board with just one side coated with fibreglass reinforced cement – the Marmox Floorbacker. This is a more cost-effective board for providing a waterproof thermal barrier on solid substrates. Additionally, Marmox Multiboard Tile Backer Board is a CE marked internal insulation board that can be plastered therefore it is an alternative to laminated thermal plasterboard. Thicknesses range from 4mm to 60mm allowing Marmox Multiboard to be used to provide a platform for tiling, a waterproof barrier, thermal insulation on walls, floors and ceilings. Marmox Multiboard is easy to cut and shape providing freedom of design and quick installation. Marmox also manufacture a curved board – Marmox Curved Multiboard – for applying to curved surfaces or creating decorative shapes. Marmox Multiboard Tile Backer Board is completely waterproof, as opposed to merely water resistant, which means that no water at all can be absorbed into the core of the board. This means that they will not bend, bow or distort in the way that plasterboard can for example. Marmox Multiboard can be used as a waterproofing tile backer board in many situations including wetrooms, steam rooms and even swimming pools. When installing Marmox Multiboard on to timber studwork or plywood, use Marmox Plastic Fixing Washers or Marmox Galvanised Fixing Washers with screws. When installing on solid walls, use the Marmox Fixing Dowels in conjunction with dabs of tile adhesive for a secure bond. We recommend using Marmox Joint Reinforcing Tape to strengthen the joints between boards prior to tiling or plastering. Use Marmox MSP 360 Sealant & Adhesive in conjunction with the Marmox Self Adhesive Waterproof Tape to seal the joints between boards and Marmox Waterproof Corner Seals to seal wall to floor corner junctions to create a completely waterproof installation prior to tiling in wet rooms and bathrooms. *Please note: Orders for small quantities of tile backer boards are usually packed into (large) parcels and dispatched via courier. We take great care in packaging them as well as possible to prevent damage to the edges and corners, however despite our best efforts occasionally they may arrive with small dents and marks that have been inflicted on the edges as they have been processed through the courier network. These marks are purely cosmetic and will have no effect on the integrity and performance of the board.
