Description Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre Levelling Compound is a fast setting fibre reinforced self levelling compound that can be used up to 50mm in thickness in a single application. Ideal for new build or renovation works. Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre has been formulated in order to guarantee maximum compatibility and adhesion with all kinds of ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and mosaic tiles. Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre Levelling Compound is for self-levelling correction of irregular and uneven substrates, fast setting and drying, and compensated shrinkage. For thicknesses from 3 to 50 mm. It is for use only on internal floors in domestic and commercial applications. Do not use Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre in external applications, on wet substrates subject to moisture rising or floating applications, in environments where water is always present. It is compatible with gel adhesives, mineral adhesives, single- and two-component organic mineral adhesives, reactive-epoxy and polyurethane, single and two-component cement-based adhesives, dispersed in water or solvent solutions, and single- and two-component organic adhesives for hardwood floor laying. Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre Levelling Compound can be used with ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and mosaic tiles, and resins for industrial floors from the Kerakoll Factory range. It can be used on mineral screeds made with Kerakoll Keracem Eco as binder or pre-mixed product, cement-based screeds, calcium sulphate-based screeds, prefabricated concrete or fresh concrete castings. Preparation of substrates: Prior to applying Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre Levelling Compound, the substrate must comply with current British standards and industry regulations. In general, substrates must be free of dust, oil and grease, free from any moisture rising, with no loose, flaky or imperfectly anchored parts such as residues of cement, lime, paint coatings and adhesives, which must be completely removed. The substrate must be stable, without cracks and have already completed the curing period of hygrometric shrinkage. In particular, the following substrates must be treated with suitable primer from the Kerakoll Primer range as follows: Cement-based screeds Calcium sulphate based screeds Concretes Ceramic floors, ceramic tiles Flooring grade plywood Gypsum fibre or fibre-cement panels Metal substrates Mixing: Pour 4.5 – 5.0 l of clean water into a clean container; then pour in a bag of Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre, while shaking. Mix with a mechanical mixer until a smooth, lump-free and self-levelling mixture is achieved. Larger quantities of Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre may be prepared in suitable mixers. After the first mixing, it is advisable to leave the mixture to rest for approx. 2 minutes and then mix again briefly. Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre features a high degree of self-levelling capacity. Adding extra water does not improve its workability, and may cause shrinkage in the plastic phase of drying and result in less effective final performance with a reduction in surface hardness, compressive strength and adhesion to the substrate. Application: Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre is generally applied with a flooring trowel. The use of a spike roller or aeration roller can be used to further improve the surface finish of Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre by removing entrapped air from the mixture. In the case of low temperatures and high humidity it is advisable to keep the environment ventilated during application and during the hours immediately following application, in order to avoid the formation of condensation on the surface of the self-levelling product during the setting phase. Protect from air currents at actual floor level. Cleaning: Residual traces of Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre can be removed from tools using water before the product hardens. Joints: perimeter expansion must be allow for in the application of self levelling compounds. Perimeter expansion edging strip must be installed along the whole perimeter of the room, on the walls and on any other vertical elements protruding from the supporting layer. Large and continuous surface areas need to be fractionized as soon as they can withstand foot traffic so to create areas < 100 m2 with 10 m maximum individual size. All movement or expansion joints located in the substrate must be respected. Overlaying: if an additional application of Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre is required once the initial application has been completed, the first installation layer must first be hardened and ready to accept foot traffic and additional application, this is generally after 3 hours. The initial layer of Kerakoll Levelflex Fibre must be primed with a neat coat of Kerakoll Active Prime Fix prior to subsequent applications.
