Description Schluter QUADEC TSDA Dark Anthracite Tile Trim is a square box section profile that offers excellent edge protection for external corners of tiled walls. It has a textured coated surface with a dark grey anthracite colour finish. The textured finish is created by coating the aluminium profile with metal dust, then colour coated, and sealed. The coating is colour stable, variations in colour and texture are intentional. As the coating is purely decorative, visible edges should be protected against abrasion. For this reason this trim is not suitable for use in areas subject to high traffic or mechanical wear, such as steps or thresholds. Schluter QUADEC TSDA Dark Anthracite Tile Trim is available in the following internal height sizes: 4.5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 11mm and 12.5mm. All sizes come in 2.5 metre lengths. In addition to its decorative function, Schluter QUADEC TSDA Dark Anthracite Tile Trim effectively protects the edge areas from damage caused by mechanical impact. The visible area of the aluminium profile forms a right angled external corner for tile coverings. The integrated joint spacer of the aluminium profile forms a defined joint cavity with the tile. Matching prefabricated corner pieces, made from solid aluminium, are available for internal and external corners for simple and appealing corner connections. Schluter QUADEC TSDA Dark Anthracite Tile Trim is extruded from aluminium. Visible edges should be protected against abrasion. Aluminium is sensitive to alkaline media. Cementitious materials, in conjunction with moisture, become alkaline, which may result in corrosion depending on the concentration and length of exposure (aluminium hydroxide formation). Remove adhesive or grout immediately from visible areas and avoid covering freshly installed assemblies with foil. In addition, ensure the profile is solidly embedded in the setting material to prevent water from accumulating in small cavities. Installation: Select the profile height of Schluter QUADEC TSDA Dark Anthracite Tile Trim according to the tile thickness and the installation method. Apply tile adhesive to the area where the tile covering will end, using a notched trowel. If Schluter QUADEC TSDA is to be installed in an external wall corner, complete the tiling of one wall, then apply tile adhesive in the corner area of the second wall. Press the perforated anchoring leg of Schluter QUADEC TSDA firmly into the adhesive and align it. Trowel additional adhesive over the perforated anchoring leg to ensure full coverage and fill the profile chamber with tile adhesive. Fully embed the adjoining tiles and adjust them in such a way that the upper lip of the profile is flush with the tile. Note: The profile may slightly protrude or be recessed in the wall area to offset dimensional variations in the covering material. In floor areas, the profile should not be higher than the tiled surface, but rather up to approx. 1 mm lower. The tile is set to the lateral joint spacer, which creates an evenly spaced joint of 1.5 mm. In the case of stainless steel or brass profiles, a joint of approx. 1.5 mm is recommended. Fill the joint completely with grout. Use suitable materials and tools for the sensitive surfaces to avoid scratches or other damage. Setting materials must be removed immediately. Matching preformed inside and outside corner pieces are available. Maintenance: Schluter QUADEC TSDA Dark Anthracite Tile Trim requires no special maintenance or care. Abrasive cleaners should not be used on sensitive surfaces. Use conventional polishes to remove the oxidation layer on aluminium; however, oxidation will reoccur.
