Description The JACKOBOARD Aqua Installation Kit is an all-in-one kit including a drain, for installing the JACKOBOARD range of Aqua Shower Trays – Aqua/Aqua Flat, Aqua Line Easy and Aqua Line Pro. The JACKOBOARD Aqua Installation Kit is an extended version of the standard JACKOBOARD Waterproof Sealing Kit, and contains: A JACKOBOARD Aqua drain kit in either a horizontal or vertical outlet. There is a specific kit variation with the specific drain for each JACKOBOARD Aqua Tray – Aqua/Aqua Flat, Aqua Line Easy and Aqua Line Pro. Choose which Aqua tray you need to match the kit drain to from the dropdown menu above. The Aqua Line Easy and Aqua Line PRO Kits do not come with a grating as this is supplied with the shower tray. You may also require the JACKOBOARD Aqua Drain Pipe Reducer Fitting to fit the outlet to standard 43mm waste pipe. 5kg of cement-based adhesive to bond the Aqua shower base to the substrate. 1 Litre of JACKOBOARD Primer for priming timber and plasterboard surfaces. Cementitious surfaces such as concrete screeds and XPS tile backer boards such as JACKOBOARD Plano Tile Backer Board do NOT require priming. 1 x 10 metre roll of JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape – a mesh tape with a rubberized central section for complete waterproof sealing of joints between JACKOBOARD Panels and other joints. 2 pre-formed internal corner sealing manchets for sealing internal corner areas of the installation. 1 tub of JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane, sufficient to fix the sealing tape and the corners. Waterproofing Application Instructions: Prime all non-cementitious surfaces to be coated (floors and walls) with a coat of JACKOBOARD Primer and allow up to 3 hours curing time. JACKOBOARD Plano Tile Backer Boards and other XPS type tile backer boards do NOT require priming. Using a brush or roller apply JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane to all wall and floor joints in a band wider than the width of the sealing tape. Apply the JACKOBOARD Sealing Tape over the joint lines and corner areas while the coatings are still wet, smoothing down the tape as you go to remove air bubbles and bedding it securely in the membrane. Apply the pre-formed corner pieces first then overlap with the sealing tape. Apply a final coat of the tanking membrane over all exposed areas of tape so the full area is of a consistent colour & even finish. Leave to dry overnight or for at least eight hours before tiling (depending on site conditions). We recommend a full 24-hour cure for cold & damp site conditions. Allow 24 hours for the JACKOBOARD Waterproofing Membrane coating to dry out and re-apply a fresh coat over any voids or areas where the first application has failed to achieve sufficient coverage.
